I am a director of photography and director, and teach practical filmmaking skills at Bath Spa University. 

 

Before joining Bath Spa I was a freelance DoP, starting out as a camera assistant on stop-frame commercials and feature films with Aardman Animations, then progressing to DoP.  Along the way I started filming live action music videos and received an MTV nomination for Cinematography for Radiohead’s 'There There'. I was also a joint recipient of a crew BAFTA award for the animated BBC film 'Robbie the Reindeer', and the BAFTA and OSCAR winning 'Curse of the Were Rabbit.

In the live action world, I have filmed shorts, commercials, green screen and interviews, and have shot second unit on feature films.

At Bath Spa University I focus on single camera production, including lighting, camera operation, sound recording, editing and working with actors.
